लाइब्रेरी-साइन्स से जुड़े प्रोफेशनल्स लोगों से मैं एक सवाल पूछना चाहता हूँ,क्या एक फ्रेशर कि औकात रोज़ के कमाने वाले एक मज़दूर से भी गैरगुज़री हो गयी है,क्या एक फ्रेशर होना गुनाह है?या लाइब्रेरी-साइन्स में आना? आजकल प्राइवेट इन्स्टिटूशन में लोकलुभावनी नौकरियाँ भी निकलती हैं मासिक वेतन छठावेतनानुसार और देते कितना 4000-800 क्या एसोसिएशन्स कि कोई जि़म्मेदारी नही बनती कि एैसे इन्स्टिटूशनों पर लगाम कसी जाय जिससे समय रहते ही मजबूरी में लाइब्रेरी-साइन्स में आने वाले खुशी-खुशी इस प्रफेशन को चुनें अगर आपको लगता है कि यह सच है तो कृप्या अपनी राय व्यक्त करें।

Very Good question, I believe here we the professionals are also responsible for this.

I know many of my friends in Karnataka are also working as Librarian for the salary of Rs. 3000-5000, when you know “You are capable of much more” then why you are accepting the salary offered, directly you can tell them “Do you need Post graduate attender or what?”, but none of us don’t want to tell this because everyone wants job ready when they comes out from the University, agrees to the salary offered to them & most of our friends wants jobs near to their home & native only, nobody wants to go big cities & explore the opportunity.

Even most of us once they get the job, don’t want to update themselves for modern day Technologies & upgrade themselves & their library to Modern day Resource Centre, when they are asked why they are not upgraded reason again “No management support, no financial support”. Nowadays a PC is cast of Rs. 10,000 & below, get one PC try out your hands with Modern days Librarian skills & come out with some products like Digital library, Repository or Library website & blogs… Put proposal to College Management, they will also agree as they have to showcase some things in front of NAAC. Once you prove your capabilities to Management they will start respecting you & they will come to know Librarian deserve more salary & he/she is important part of institute.

Anyways, in this case Associations cannot help much, but we as an individual can bring “Change”

main apki baat se puri trah sahmat hoon lekin yahan pe galti kuch freshers ki v hai na k institutes ki kiu k jab unko koi parson 3000-3500 main hi asani se mil jata hai to wo kiu 5000 ya 7000 den???? main apko ek example deta hu hamare yaahan ek M Lib ladki ayee kuch months pehle to wo sirf 1800 me join kiya jab ham logo ne pucha k aap itna kam me kiu aye to wo bole k chairman sir rakhna nahi chahte thy or maine ane k man bna liya tha..................... ab aap log hi batlao k jab tak ham logo ki koi uniti nahi banti or ham hi final nahi karte k kam se kam 5000 hi lange ya kuch or ..........tab hi ja k kuch hal ho sakta hai is baat ka nahi to kuch nahi ho sakta...........

आप सही कह रहे हो, लेकिन हम फ्रेशर भी क्या करे, experience के लिए हमें कम वेतन में ही काम करना पड़ता है। इन्सिटयूशन को भी कम वेतन पर जब कर्मी मिल रहे है, तो वह regular post भी नहीं निकालते है।

Dear This is the serious matter. Solution of this problem is that all professional are join as group and make a rules and regulation for the same. and also make a powerful unity. Without unity it was not possible, better pay for the professional.

Only this is a option of my and this forum question Mr. Ramakant u r right!

sir it is a matter of wonder...to i know that library professional's salary is only 3000-5000 this is amazing sir...sir i belong to himachal pradesh   i joined the govt polytechnic college in hourly basis.  but sir my salary is 4020+50% DP old scale but at present it is 7200 fixed . after some time i qualify assistant Librarian commission through himachal pradesh subordinate servce selection board and my scale is 5910+2400GP+3% annual increment for six year after that  i m going to regular and my salary will be about 18000  very important thing qualification for this post 10+2 and one year diploma in library science however i am Net Qualify
