As Per UGC Librarian is come under Teaching staff,

 

But here in India Librarian come under NON teaching Staff but some university and college consider Librarian in teaching staff. As we can seen the pay scale of librarian is equivalent to the teaching staff in universities and some of the colleges. But generally in school librarian come under non teaching staff. Librarian have the same workload as teaching staff as Library period, arrangement etc. but it consider  in non teaching staff

“Status of School Librarian is same as a school teachers and pay-scale is also same(NVS, KVS etc). But Librarian responsibilities  are  different as compare to teachers like acquiring,organizing and disseminating information to the users as well as staff.”

In school level the librarian come under teaching catagory

- As they are frame time table to attend the class

- They are also given duty for invigilation

- They are also some times given class like Moral Science and GK

- They are also given substitution duties as like teachers

- As a librarian they teach them how to search a book, about the reading habits in library, rules and regulation of library which will help them in future when they visit a library how they should be.

 

So in school level the librarian come under teaching catagory.

school librarian is comes under the non teaching category..........in maharashtra govt aidid schools librarian gets only 2700 for first three years its really very less salary as compared to teaching post.......after three years we people get ded scale.....this siytuation has to be changed ....... we have to unite  try to change situation......in school librian has not get vacation also.....hope this situation has to be changed.

it might comes under mostly as non teaching in schools..but in some states they may call as teaching staff
