Social Science Cyber Library
The Aligarh Muslim University, established by the Act of Parliament as a Central University in 1920, is one of the oldest and probably the biggest residential university in the country. Out of the 12 faculties, Social Sciences is the largest faculty, consisting of about 2700 students, 500 Research Scholars and 137 faculty members.
Recently, the faculty under the leadership of Prof. Shabahat Husain (a Professor of Library & Information Science), Dean of the Faculty has taken a pioneering step to establish the first Social Science Cyber Library in the world. The same was inaugurated by His Excellency Shri Pranab Mukherjee, the President of India on 27th December, 2013. The library is aimed at providing access to the freely available e-resources in form of e-books, e-journals including in-house publications, web courses, video lectures of eminent scholars, web sites, Data bases, Subject Gateways and a host of softwares, pertaining to the Social Sciences. The cyber library is expected to serve the social scientists across the globe.

Its definitely remarkable effort sir.
I have checked the e-Books but one thing i have to say if we click on the book directly it will goes to download better to show the contents because when the user search any information ย if it goes to download unnecessary items will download, if it shows the contents the user can easily find the needed information from it. so better to show contents. it also represents the Dr. S R Ranganathan's quote "Right information to the Right Reader at the Right Time".
This is my personal opinion sir.

Thanks for your post. Indeed it will be helpful for individuals if it really serve the 'Social Scientists across the globe' as you have mentioned in your post.
I 'd like to know just one thing, whether the FULL TEXT of journal articles are available free of cost? and if yes, how can we download them. I have triedย (on trial basis) for an article in the Money Credit & Banking but the full text is not available (or it is available ONLY to REGISTERED USERS)
So, I am a bit confused whether it is meant for the authorized users at AMU or for individuals in outside it?
I shall appreciate if you please explain it for benefit of me as well as other LIS Link users.

Thanks for your kind response. Is there any alphabetical/subject wise list of E-journals? I have searched with the title but could not get . Furthermore, I noticed that the site lists several Bibliographical databases. (like OVID/Web of Science etc). But they require Login ID & Pass Words. I just want to know whether such Login IDs & Pass Words are available for NON AMU users?
