I just learnt that you are employed at ICMR. I can assure you that you will get a good exposure as ICMR is a good platform. Incidentally, I had been the first ever Library Professional with M.Lib. Sc. in ICMR family. In those days there was no trend of consolidated Salary or Contract Service. Even people were given advance increments if found suitable. I know it personally as I joined ICMR service with advance increments! It was possible because there was no such abundance of qualified staff as there was no distance mode of education where all and sundry can enroll themselves and a much lesser number of Universities used to run the course.

you are right. because our LIS Professional are responsible for it . and there are so many reason behind it . and the rule of UGC also no stick about rule for colleges.colleges are free for LIS RULE. i don't understand why our LIS  doing this. they haven't any respect for there Profession so i think they do it. and so many condition also..............

Very sad...this stipend amount should be revised. Senior Librarians/ Decision makers should think about it. Spending lacs of money in buying automation software.But paying 5k salary to a librarian-cum-cyberian  (which is less than salary of a data entry operator i.e 5200) ?!?!?

Should take care of Employee's job satisfaction.

Yes,Sir this reality , many new library professionals face this, they work in less salary because in organizations demand experience  so for experience professionals compromise in less salary.

This is very sad news that :A student completes MLIS degree which is a post graduate degree,after completing this degree he/she gets 5000/- as stipend,I agree with all that it should be revised ..............
