Recently,

I have seen several posts regarding filing petition against UGC in courts.

I think candidates are enthusiastic by Kerala high court verdict.

But, wait.

The game is not over yet..

UGC decision is yet to come.

Its a statutary body.

Dear friends, what do you think about the situation,

if there is 1 Lakh NET qualified candidate per session June & December?

.

All of you are demanding reduction of qualifying marks.

after that for 1 post 1000 candidate will apply.

In objective mode without negative marking, its not a big deal to score 40+40+75 (UR) and less for Quota candidates.

If your luck favours, U may score easily.

I am just asking 1 question.

How many of you can challenge me that "I HAVE ANSWERED ALL THE QUESTIONS CONFIDENTLY. I WAS 100% SURE ABOUT THE OPTION I HAVE CHOSEN"

I can bet that if UGC re-examine the answer script with negative marking, the result count will come to 30%

Dear Sri Apurba Jyoti Majumder,

Thanks for your post. I have gone through all the posts with varied reactions. This is quite natural. I appreciate Ms. Naurine Ashraf's post. She has expressed exasperation of the aspirants who are fighting for their careers!! I salute their toil but I became sad to notice that they are not ready to accept the reality and constructive criticism!! This a phase in their life when they do not want (& accept) any adverse comment which (they feel) may act as hindrance to their goal. This too is somewhat acceptable as the proverb goes Necessity knows no Law  However, they will certainly realize in not too distant future that quality ultimately matters. I fully endorse your view about acquiring marks in papers.

I believe that if out of three papers paper 1 is composed of just 3 questions of 35+35+30 marks, paper 2 is composed of 5 questions each of 20 marks and paper 3 is composed of 50  objective type questions each of 1.5 marks and 25 objective type questions each of 1 mark with overall qualifying marks of 40% in each paper, the picture would have been somewhat different. With my somewhat ancient  scholarly thoughts I personally believe that those who are aspiring for teaching in the Universities or intend to pursue research MUST be capable of writing 250 -300 word on a given issue. as I see in many interviews the basic and analytical knowledge among the new generation people falls short of expectation. Undoubtedly many of them or majority of them are excellent IT skilled but the academic flavour (for which library professionals are accepted by the UGC at par with academic staff) among the library professionals is fast eroding.

sincerely,

Siddhartha S. Ray, Calcutta

I want expert comment from you also..

Dera Sri Aourba Juoti Majumder

I have just seen a comment from you regarding a matter which is around 9 months old.

For last couple of weeks I very occasionally see the LIS Link postings because of some different preoccupation.
As I can recall, My post (of December 2012) was related to some debates favouring  descriptive questions. And I still stick to my old comments.

However, I must admit that in a Democratic Country, People can certainly go to Court if they feel like. While I PERSONALLY believe that a combination of descriptive and Objective Questions at say, 70:30 proportion. It will enable the examiners to evaluate a student's depth of knowledge and capacity to explain or analyze issues as well as his/her diversity of knowledge about the entire syllabus.

Sincerely,

Siddhartha S. Ray, Calcutta

I strongly agree with you mr. Apurba Jyoti Majumder

I heartily Congratulation who has consider himself  NET Qualified as per Minimum Qualifying criteria of  UGC

Minimum Marks (%) to be obtained

PAPER – I

PAPER – II

PAPER– III

GENERAL

40 (40%)

40 (40%)

OBC(Non-creamy layer)

35 (35%)

35 (35%)

PWD/SC/ST

35 (35%)

35 (35%)

I think everyone should think of future of our young professionals Friends

This type of decision may be benifited for senior professionals like Mr. L. M. Khan

Who is already in service, in service professionals can automatic get regular scale due to NET Qualified certificate

But what about fresher professionals

What will be the Librarian jobs situation?

One college/ Institute has one Librarian Post

Most of post already filled

For reaming post  what will be competition?

If 1 post & candidate applied for 200

Than in private colleges / institutes authority (President/Chairman)

Asking for huge Money means those candidate has capacity of give Money & some relation with authority

they got that post

I think we should think about of market position for jobs

When supply less than demand than  get  some important of production

otherwise that production has no value

So we should think about future of our young , fresher professionals

NOW what?
Ab sabki bolti bandh?

Just read what I said in the 1st post

"Its a statutory body"

and SC said the same thing..

Now I am eagerly waiting for all "EXPERT" commets
