Respected Professionals,

I have written a article "Use of E-Journals/Periodicals & Collection Development: A case study of Central Library, University of Delhi"

Infact, it was my research work, which i have done in MLIS in 2009, Now i would like to publish it. It is very gud research article about 12 pages including 15 tables and related in several types of diagrams.

Earliest i sent it to ILA office to publish in ILA bulletin during Dec 2010. Gradually i communicate them since submission of article, now they are refusing it saying data i was submitted is old (i.e. 2006-07, 2007-8, 2008-9).

Now i would like to publish it in other reputed national journals which contains ISSN also. Kindly suggest me list of journals where i can publish it.

If anyone has it own publication and would like to publish it than i will send it for review.

i think u can publish in yla

Pandey Sir, Thank you very much for your reply, kindly tell me the procedure as well as its website.............

thanks

What does yla stands for??? Mr. Pandey ji

YLA- it stands Young Library Association publish its annual journals called Journal of young Library Association since Vol.1, 2008.

Sir,
Frequently people post discussion requesting article for publication in Journal here in the LIS Links itself. You can send your article to them. You can search previous request for article in our archive such as
http://lislinks.com/forum/topics/article-request-vol-4-2011-journal...

Badan Sir,

Thanks for your suggestion, I must search the same before publishing it over LIS links, i am sorry for that. But here my intention was is there any person/organisations in LIS LINKS which have their own publication?, They can better explain me and it is also the time saving process for me.

Anyway thanks for your valuable suggestion because we have to  keep the LISLINKS beyond the duplication.

upgrade it and Send it to

Dear Sri H.S. Bist,

Thanks for your post and the contents. I presume we are supposed to witness same posts in not too distant future.

In fact, the moment UGC introduced weightage system for publication, the trend started to pour in! Especially the specific mention of ISSN akin to this fact. I believe that many senior professionals will corroborate the same idea! Don't lose heart; It is not a vise, it is an honest effort to reap off wealth of production of labour.

However, going through the comments of ILA Bulletin, regarding old data, I am, truly speaking, a bit surprised. As I gathered from your title, I believe, it is a survey type work based on questionnaire and/or interview. As far as I know there was no drastic changes in the interim period in the use of E- Journals, Periodicals AND collection development policies in the university Libraries during last three-four years!! There is no denying in the fact though that some hundred works have been done with almost the same topic and several papers have been published  during last ten years and your work is merely a duplication of previous studies of same nature may be with a case study of a different University Library. But they have not told so. Anyway, the proposal of Sri Khuspreet Singh seems quite acceptable, but before sending the paper there, please ensure that (a) whether they will publish Proceedings of full papers and (b) whether the Proceedings will have ISSN. if any of the items are NO, then try elsewhere (otherwise you will lose desired Weightage!!.) like as proposed by Dr. Pandey.  By the way, why are you not trying for UNIVERSITY NEWS? It is a weekly publication of Association of Indian Universities and they often publish such articles.

Best Wishes,

Siddhartha S. Ray, Calcutta

Sir,

Yes, I am agree with you, due to growth in literature and subscription of e-resources/jls in place of print jls is the interest of mostly persons to work on it. In fact, i got the data in 2009 and i distributed around 200 questionnaires to Students, Faculty members and staff of Central Library, Delhi University and got the response of 100 persons. After Collecting the data from different category of users i analysed it, and produces with the help of 15 tables and respective diagrams, Therefore, there is not very less chance for duplication.

In data old sense is that, Expenditure of DULS of their print and e-resources which i was collected upto 2009 because i collected the expenditure data oct 2009.

Anyway, now i am trying to collect expenditure data of DULS upto 2011-12 and giving my article to new shape.

Khuspreet and Ray sir, Thanks for your valuable suggestions.
