Review of the CSIR-NISCAIR Short Term Training on "Library Automation and Networking"

Is it beneficial to do this course or it is just a wastage of money (considering the high course fees). People who attended these courses previously from CSIR-NISCAIR) are requested kindly toย throw some light on it.

I attended this training course on March 2018. It is a very good experience. It is very beneficial and not wastage of money. The course will help you to make a very good base in koha software

1) What are the timings of classes ?

2) Whether Saturday/Sunday is off or not ?

9 am to 5 pm is the class time.

Classes are conducted in NISCAIR Building

There is no class on sunday.

Thanks for your post.

I can not comment for this particular course but from my personal experience with the courses conducted by INSDOC (Now CSIR-NISCAIR) isย  quite positive. As an employee of ICMR, I under went a week long course on Bibliometrics way back in 1997 and apart from successfully doing regular official bibliometric works, it enabled me to publish a paper in a Mainstream Scientific Journal. The (then) faculty & instructors were great. I am still indebted to them for my authorshipย  in a Scientific Journal.

I have attended one, I found quite helpful. There are two organisations( NISCAIR and INFLIBNET ) who provide the training, both are good in the dissemination of knowledge. Regarding the course fee, I have no comment.ย
