To improve the status any profession one should have many qualities. Some of them are as follows;

1. Good subject Knowlege

2. Aware with latest subject trends and knowledge of the comlete universe, so layman can recognise him. 

3. Self Respect and respect for his profession

4. Maintain Dignity

5. Use latest technology

6. Good Communicative Skills

7. Good Hospitality

Dear ,

We professional know our dignity & respect, rights & quality within us. Librarians are not alone stupid; they are made several time stupid by their disciplinary committee. He/She alone can’t do any things without appeal granted. So individually professional is improving their quality day by day but fail to improve profession.

Very interesting topic...I agree with Dr.Pachauri..Librarian shoul have the power of gaining khowledge.,reading and thinking skills,good oral and written communications,love for library science,respect to the profession,intest in using latest technology in LIS..Always thinking for new creativity  and its application to LIS..All LIS professional should consider himself as King of Data,Information and khowledge..

Its great and very important topic in the library feild.

1. Be positive.

2. We r the best in library.

3. atmosphere in library should be healthy & cooprative.

4. give best services to the last user of  your inst.

5. Adopt latest technology in library.

6. Don't feel yourself low at any stage u r the head of library department.

7. update yourself time to time.

8. get exposes to attend conference & seminar.
