Yes, of course.  Management theories apply to Library and Information Centres too.  Starting from Frederick Taylors Time and Motion study for business efficiency to current organizational behavioral theories, everything is applicable. It should be clear, that any Library and Information Centre works as an individual department within the organization. It has its own structure, workflows, procedural norms, etc.  Management theories plays the most important role when it comes to control mechanisms in the department.  A librarian or any library personnel be the matter should have all the qualities of a good manager, then only can he/she satisfy the stakeholders of the library i.e. patrons as customers and the management of the parent organizations.
