Dear Colleague,

It is really a tentatively new topic for perusing research in the domain of Library and Information Science. As we know that music is also a subject of study alike other. It has also accommodated lots of development and growth since it has taken birth as descried in “Sama Veda”. It is more related with the psychology, emotion and personal interests rather than the concept of adopting advanced and developed alike other items important for daily life. This tendency has been since its origin.  In other subjects you will find the literature, those can be classified in outdated and updated in terms of its origin but in music, nothing may be known as outdated or updated, it’s all depends up on our emotions which includes the two factors, first is mind and second is body. Mind may life different music but for body, mind desires for different music.  So your work will be heavier and little difficult, if you take the music overall for doing your work. There are lots of changes have been taking place in music as a listener of music we can easily assume those changes. But once you will go for research, you will come in contact of literatures and available publications you will get the proper direction of changes in real sense such as in units.

I would like to suggest you, if you are interested in doing research in the area of music then try to find the relation of music and its demand after that you can find the trend and factors responsible for adoption of a particular music by a community or communities with in fixed time, ways to shifting from older to newer and the affecting factors for accumulating music. Your research is kind of pure practical research and in this area the changes are taking place from 360 degree directions. Since you are library professional then you may be bias toward profession and you will be thinking for doing research within the domain of Library Science. But I would like suggest to not wasting the resources for doing research within only the area of music storage, dissemination and user analysis only. You can refer the  existing resources of music compare them, from old to new, find out the similar themes, between classical and modern, from Indian to Western, and Western to Indian etc.  Overall try to solve the queries of music unsolved yet. You start observing and collecting the data in a regular way easily you can find out the problems of the area of music and you can take them for your research and PhD.

Thanking You…
