In today's era what role a librarian can play?

As we have seen that today's library is open to all, and user's demands are ever increasing so to meet the users needs librarian has to play different role to meet those needs. Now the LIS professionals is not called today only the libaraian but now they are designated as Knowledge manager, Information manager, Information professionals, Information provider, Information broker, Information intermediaries.
Now the LIS professions is not limited to only meant to be librarian but the LIS profession is growing and growing.

but first of all we will have to be a Librarian after that we will get Knowledge manager, Information manager, Information professionals, Information provider, Information broker, Information intermediaries. you are right LIS profession is growing and growing but every body will have to start with first step.
And the most important thing is to respect themselves and their profession.

Librarianship is a bridge between two entities; People and Knowledge resources , Basically librarian consider who may need this bridge, when and where a bridge is needed, how it is to be built and how it can be best utilized we are planner, architect, builder and marketer of bridges. Ultimatelly we are the Knowledge Integrator. We Integrate the Right Knolwedge for the Right People at the right time.
