Dear Shindhay,
The Internet, Web environment and associated sophisticated tools have given the librarian a new dynamic role to play and serve the new information based society in better ways. The role of librarian in Internet and Web environment especially as intermediary, facilitator, end-user trainer, Web site builder, researcher, interface designer, knowledge manager and sifter of information resources is also described.

I must say here the role of web librarian is very wide. All roles of related to web, which can do librarian, can be comes under the profile of web librarian.

Web Libra rain does not have any particular definition but He/she who deals with internet and provides information, various services regarding e library ,can be called Web Librarian.
The Web portfolio is much wider. Role of Web Librarian as similar as normal librarian but web word coherently focuses only internet domain , its problems ,services and most important thing is saving of time.

In the age of Internet we have the virtual libraries i.e. (libraries today are 24x7) without the confines of the boundary wall as the traditional libraries are, hence today the librarians have evolved themselves from Documentalist to  information scientist to cyberarians. Throug the knowledge of search engines/databases they make available the resource material to the user's desktop
