Please give me suggestion about the news paper database providers in India.

Which is the better way to store old news papers, can we digitize it? what is the technique of digitize? or any other suggestions regarding it. Do news paper agency keep CD's of this?

Dear Ms. Dimple,

Your reply has two parts
I have replied to your send part in my first reply (see the last sentence) But whether all of them sell their digitized collections is not known to me. However, as I know of a few big houses at Kolkata, (like The Statesman or ABPL) they do not sell. Library of Congress usually sell (or used to sell a couple of years ago) as I know. Some Ms. Moody was the then key person. You can get details of it from LOC New Delhi Director Ms. Laila Moogaonkar. (However, I wonder whether she is still at New Delhi!)

Now, the first part. There are several such agencies located in almost all metro/big cities in India. It is preferable to contact & deal with local agencies.
We undertake such jobs occasionally (to generate funds) for Govt. agencies but transporting the materials to Calcutta and get them back at your place seems to be a costly exercise for you. Besides, we have certain norms which the client organizations have to comply with. I personally believe that exploring for organizations locally should be the best idea.

Sincerely,

Siddhartha S. Ray, Calcutta

Thank you Siddhartha Sir.
