I have come to know that in RFID System, if anybody is carrying a book which has magnetic tape and he/she puts a coin in the book, theย tape looses its effectiveness and it can be carried outside without being issued. There shall be no alarms for that. Is it true?ย Please discuss because it is a serious issue for all LIS Professionals.

technoloyg for misuse....than same human mind can recode it....so the no one can misuse it.
But dear Raksha, the time span between breaking and repairing it again can be fatal in terms of loss of property especially for Libraries.
You are right the gap between breaking and repairing will be fatal in terms of loss of property. But sir I didnโt say that we should wait till it repairs. I said we should no need to take worry. Worryโฆ can only harm a human mindโฆ. But ya we should try to search fast a good substitute for this problem or try some other option till anything can be use for the same.
Every book has a magnetic tag where RFID is functional........Keeping a coin or any iron item does not negate its alarms. Rather the real disadvantage we all don't know that RFID's are not only used in Libraries but Credit Cards or any magnetic item to store information to do some kind of transaction. A RFID reader of Rs. 500/- value can read the card number, expiration date and your full name just by being next to you. The scariest part is that you have no idea! Imagine you are at a shopping plaza and someone with an RFID reader just has to stand by the doorway while you are leaving and voila! He now has your credit card information.
So what do you think of it. Should we go for it by spending lacs of rupees or just abstain of it and think for other alternatives?
Dear Kamal, even the articleย on the link providedย by you contains a different paragraph which cites certain negative aspects of this technology. Isn't it?
