but sir they connected to library network. I m saying no IT professional can get job in libraries but can a part of Library network no doubts. I told earlier than IT cover every area of library and one must be basic knowledhge of LIS. But in INFLIBNET there is no need to having lIS Knowledge becoz that z a network of Libraries which z totally belong to IT. I can give u a example when i was working in IHE library there I hired a private software for library But that firm z totaly belongs to IT and made a lib. soft. for us (House keeping operations) n all. They also doing job there and not having any LIS degree they just familiar to LIS functions

No not at all but IT people play an important role to help the Librarian to execute the various library function. Librarian is the most important for Libraries he knows how to run the library & librarian post is manager & policy maker post. At this level a IT people can't capture but a librarian with IT knowledge can do very better job.

IT people never capture the field of library and information science.IT can give support to LIS for providing effective and filtered information to its clients.But LIS people must be IT savvy so that they can provide quick service to their user theirself. IT companies has also libraries and they people are also selecting a person having LIS degree.It is personal experience with TCS.But they want Natural sciences graduate candidates only.

For indexing goole also hire LIS professional .They are also depend on LIbrarians.IT and LIS has a mutual relation which can go on the path of success with a sound bonding.

We all librarians must have good skill to perofrm well in our areas.
