I am a working person and applied for mlis through ignou...but their schedule is very hectic, a have  done b.sc. regular through du, then blis from ignou and want to pursue mlis through the same but it is a little bit difficult to match up their time  requirements... i thought to do the same from some other university but someone advice me to not to go for other universities as they are not reliable (i thought of kurukshetra university)....i don't know what to do now..how to know the authenticity of distance education.

thanks..

IGNOU is IGNOU means,I think, since its provide its MLIS in distance mode but you can compare IGNOU MLIS students with other regular universities MLIS students in terms of knowledge, competition etc.

Sir,

I understand, IGNOU syllabus is fully update but its up to person who take is seriously.

If pl you don't mind, I would like to ask 'is all good LIS professionals from IGNOU ?' and if no then after estd. of IGNOU how many good professionals specially higher positions come out and made good contribution to LIS ?

Sir, I am frm Varanasi and BHU is presently top univ as per survey, means BHU is best then others, try to take first admission in BHU ? if no then.... In information  explosion and changing ICT environment every person just do try to update.... and its good, and pl remember IGNOU study materials help in the reg..... I think.

ms. singh and mr. bisht....the problem i am facing is not related to the authenticity of IGNOU... all of us are very well aware of the points u guys are stressing upon (as i mentioned earlier to mr. bisht).....
and it is also not a matter of easy or difficult...research and study are not a big issue for me... i also want to do go for it...but the main thing is to match up the ignou requirements...i need time....their are assignments, presentations and project which should be completed before the main exams
plus i am also studying a foreign language with my job which a compulsion with the organisation i am employed with...once i start with ignou..it will be more painful to leave in between....so i just wanted to know about other universities having a reliable DE as IGNOU so that i can go for further studies in my field...
Then, you can do it from other universities also like KU, Annamalai etc. They are recognised by DEC as well as UGC.
