It depends on you Padma, Whether you need a job to earn your livelihood or need a degree after you name. Whats the problem of choosing the both, change the PhD to part time mode and do a job.
madam

first you change your photo. when we upload another person photo.we lost our individuality. I appreciate you for qualified NET. you continue Ph.D. if you get good job. then decide.

ha ha ha....

good reply given by Mr. O seshaiaih. changing profile photo is must. then only, you may think whether u should continue ur PhD or  search a job

Here everyone suggest you to go for PhD, but be cautious - after two years the job market will be completely different.

@Badan Berman how sir?

Madam

I agree with Dr. Badan Barman

I am also Qualified NET

completed M. Phil & doing Ph.D from pune university

my third year is going on

I would like to suggest that

change the PhD to part time mode and do a job.

your service will be not  counted

Agree! Better to have a job and then pursue parallely Phd

Go for PhD

Once u join job, PhD will take additional 2 years time

Dont worry about Jobs

once got PhD, no problem for job.

go for PhD....

Dear padma, Here Barman sir is very much right. Getting a good job is much valuable in comparison to pursue PhD. PhD is only a degree and this degree is required for the high level position like Deputy librarian and above or associate professur and above. at the entry level like asst librarian or asst prof. you have acquired sufficient degree.

But you should leave ur PhD after getting GOOD Job only preferably in govt or public sector organisation. Barman sir is write. if  ur department or guide allows you; you may change ur PhD in part time mode then you can be benefited from both side

pracically
today if by luck you get Phd guide means you got god, so you are really lucky among others,
so dont think anything

job at any time you had opputunity but Phd what you need to complete.

today once API shee thad made you will be evaluated less if you are only net, pl have

Mphil + phd + net will be watage above all.

bu tif you get Assistant Librarian JOB in central go for it and persue your Phd afterwords in Job by taking leaves. ok do PHD and try for AL in short

Simultaneously both

I congratulate you on qualifying the NET. As you have completed 1 yr. of Ph. D., if it is from a reputed university,  you are better to get the Doctorate. And hence, work as Lecturer in LIS or settle at Information or Documentation centers like DRTC etc. as Information Scientist which are most challenging and Dignified posts..

After qualifying NET,  Ph. D. is useless besides waste of time and also a large amount of money. Simply I mean,  to work as a simple Librarian (either in Academic or in Public institutions), PADMA MLISc., NET is enough but not Dr. PADMA MLISc., Ph. D. (which is necessary for the above said Jobs).

Hope you take right decision for your bright future.

Wish you Good Luck.
