National Librarian Day celebration in Central Library of Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS), Prayagraj-211007 (U.P.)
National Librarian Day was celebrated in Central Library of Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS) on 14 August 2023 on the occasion of 131th birth anniversary of PadmaShree Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, the father of library science in India. The event was witnessed by Honorable Pro.Vice-Chancellor (academic affairs) and Chairman of the Library advisory committee Prof. Dr. ir. Jonathan A. Lal as Chief Guest.
The program was started with a word of prayer. Mrs. Shweta Chaurasia, Assistant Librarian welcomed the chief guest and everyone.
Librarian of Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences SHUATS Mr. Christofhar Sudhir George in his address has highlighted the significant contributions of padmashree Dr. S.R. Ranganathan in the field of library and information science.
Chief Guest Pro.Vice-Chancellor (academic affairs) & Chairman of the Library advisory committee Prof. Dr. ir. Jonathan A. Lal, in his keynote address, acknowledges the pivotal role of library in academics environment. He motivated Library staff to utilize information and communication technology to provide innovative library services.
Mrs. Shalini Massey, cataloguer has thanked chief guest and everyone in vote of thanks.
The celebration was ended with closing prayer and sweets distribution to staff and students
