There is no specific Number of Pages....like five, ten... http://www.copyright.gov.in/Documents/CopyrightRules1957.pdf
But i hope normally allowed mentioned points here for research / teaching purpose.

- An article from a periodical or newspaper
- A short story, short essay or short poem, whether or not from a collective work
- A chart, diagram, graph, drawing, cartoon or picture from a book, periodical or newspaper
