Recognition of Excellence: Prof. Dr. Mangala Hirwade Joins Management Council, RTMNU

Dear distinguished LIS Professionals,

It is a matter of great pride and honour for the entire LIS fraternity in India to share that Prof. Dr. Mangala Hirwade, Head, Department of Library and Information Science, has been nominated as a Member of the Management Council under Section 63 of the University Act of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur.

Over the years, many eminent personalities from our profession have held prestigious positions and have brought glory to the field. In the context of women's empowerment, this nomination is another significant milestone.

We are fortunate to witness a time when distinguished women leaders are shaping the future of academia and librarianship. Recently, Prof. Uma Kanjilal has taken charge as the Vice-Chancellor of IGNOU, my alma mater, and in the recent past, Prof. Devika P. Madalli was appointed Director of INFLIBNET. Now, Prof. Mangala Hirwade will also shoulder this esteemed responsibility and her academic contributions to the University.

This achievement not only highlights her dedication and leadership but also inspires the entire professional community.

With Regards,

Sumit Chakraborty

Research Scholar

Dept. of LIS, RTM Nagpur University.
