Software Selection Criteria:

1. Is it compatible with your usual practice ? Does it need any customization ?

2. Is it able to import/export ISO2709 format ? Marc Format(*.fil).

3. How  far is this user friendly ?

4. What are the limitations of the software ? Regarding database / speed etc

5. How fair is after sales support ?

6. What is its installation base? What credential the vendor mat furnish your for its glitch free  operation?

7. What is the update policy?

8. How fair is the price?

9. Most important : Plat for dependability.

There are lots of such tools. You may check Libsys, SOUL, Slim++, Alice For Windows, 

or 

KOHA, PHP MyLibrary or OpenBiblio

am also working with this soft form last 2 years...

i have already a cd of e- granthalya send by baba farid uni., Faridkot but it is not working properly .I don't know the reason perhaps it is not installed properly.

madam i feel u shud install  My SQL properly, nd it shud b done befor doing the rest,,untill and unless MySQL is installed properly it wont work,, for detail info on e-granth plz log on to egranthalaya.nic.in/,, we r using the same frm, past 2-3 yrs,, one of the gud soft at present,,regards

Madam just seen your post,

You mean, whether it is a CENTRAL library having some departmental libraries like University Library or Government Central Library like Andhra Pradesh Govt.'s. The purpose of the soft ware usage is also essential i.e., for only House Keeping Operations or all activities of Library. My suggestion depends on your needs with the Soft ware usage.
