Nahi aisa kuch nahi hai, sab DVD me hai, aap instruction ko follow kijiye sab ho jayega, agar aapke pass koi dusra computer hai to usme koha ke liye use kijiye, wo jada accha rahega.

Sir,

To install KOHA do I need the background knowledge or expertise in any of the softwares? I would like to further add - I have seen your video. The voice is not quite clear.  It would be useful for all of us if the same can be uploaded with a better/clearer voice

No once you will install this dvd in machine after that automatically you will start learning more things, so you just install and see how various options of the koha can be used.

I have made video in home roughly just to show installation steps so voice is not clear, next time i will try to make best.

Koha new versions did not supported windows but i recommended you to use Ubuntu based these Livd DVD, its easy than windows once you install the things you need not to do anything on installation machine. Just you have to use the Koha features without much thinking about Operating system.

Sir, thank you for the information.

I would like to mention one thing about the Live DVD.( It is a complete bootable computer operating system which runs in the computer's memory, rather than loading from the hard disk drive. It allows users to experience and evaluate an OS and its programs without installing it or making any changes to the existing operating system on the computer.) 

So we can boot the live DVD without installing and check out Koha. If we don't want it we could just restart our PC and remove the DVD and go back to our previous Operating system.

Dear Viswanathan,

You have very well described the first option which we are getting after booting the Live DVD and if we will choose third option the whole things will be installed in your machine so that it can boot from your hard disk also.

Sir,

i mentioned about the live option because many dont have knowledge of Linux\ubuntu, it will be of great help to them to learn koha using this option. they wont have to format or customize their harddisk to get an idea of koha.

I have successfully tried three options of running koha on my PC.

1. by using it as live dvd.

2. Installing it as my only Operating system.

3. Installing it as secondary OS along with windows Xp and 7.

Can we install koha using the live cd on a server and use it on intranet or internet?
