Admissions Open: Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Library and Information Management (PGDLIM) for the year 2025-26 at TISS, Mumbai

Greetings!

The Centre for Library and Information Management Studies (CLIMS), Sir Dorabji Tata Memorial Library, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, is a major centre involved in capacity building of LIS professionals. It offers PGDLIM, MLISc and PhD programmes in Library and Information Science discipline with a focus on digital libraries, knowledge organization, library automation, electronic resource management and web-based information services.

TISS is pleased to announce admissions for the 16th batch (2025-26) of the "Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Library and Information Management (PGDLIM)" programme. This cutting-edge, one-year blended-mode programme uses contact classes in the computer lab (2 weeks in each semester) for on-campus sessions and the Moodle e-learning platform for off-campus sessions. The course also includes a field work component worth 8 credits, consisting of supervised placements in various digital library environments. It aims to create trained manpower to handle digital libraries, archives, data management and electronic resources.

This programme will equip librarians, academics, archivists and researchers with digital library and information management skills to play a larger role in their organizations. The salient features of this programme include a well-crafted curriculum, expert faculty, enhanced emphasis on hands-on lab experience, sound theory and experiential learning unique to TISS.
