A human library concept was started in 2000 at Copenhagen, Denmark. Initially it was started by “Stop the Violence” a non-governmental organisation.

Please! Write the whole story here only; source of Idea or the source you can fairly mention/cite.

It is like diverting the people to read the full content at some other webpage is fine but

what is your primary motive? If I guess, "Enlightening the people". then save the time and resource of the peoples.

Thank you.

First let me clear, i am not writing any article to mention a cite in a proper way (APA, Chicago or other style), Second i am trying to highlight some basic issues which can help to the working professional and trying to providing some genuine sources like websites, Newspaper sources, etc. which can help to understand more about topics and Third one click can be take to a blog, where users can see other posts too.

Dear Huded

Your vision is very clear, I had come up with a point for solving a problem may be lead/raised by the sources/destinations. A paragraph(part of ) existing on two web-pages is misleading while in citing the source.

Citing a source is having the bigger meaning than following a specific pattern(APA, Chicago or other styles)

Thank you.

Dear Munesh,

Thanks, I will try to look on the issue.

What is your solution?

Hi!
Mr. Siddu and Munesh Sir,

I think its quite new and interesting concept. I have gone through the link provided by Mr. Siddu.
The concept is Good and as a professional, we can try this concept, but I have some doubt regarding the existence of physical stock in the library. as we all know library usage has been reducing due to electronic resources. Introducing human library concept can also have an adverse effect as patron get the answer from the human so their reading habit may decrease.
munesh sir can you please add your views on this concept

Dear Madam,

A correction, In the digital era, Libraries are more utilized than earlier; the example is Google or any other search engine including OPAC and Remote authentication systems, which are totally depended on the libraries located at the remote servers.

Human Library

It is difficult to say, "at what level a person can play the role of a book or many books in the need".

It is more or less a kind of counseling or mentoring again for further or depth study one has to read the book. It is good to have a person to help in getting the clarification so the teacher.

Another point what I can extract is, "It is very much possible in case of public Libraries where people come to get their problem solved occurred due to the lack of authentic information or the guidance".

If we talk about the Person as a Book then we must have a person who is comfortable in the universe of knowledge.

Finally, I would add one more point that the concept of human library is born due to the nuclear family system, where, there is no one to talk with person living alone at home or the kids who are not being mentored by the grandparents, and both, mother and father of the child are employed, have no time for the kids so there would be the need of someone who could give the quality time with the nuclear family member. I think it is needed for the best socialization.

Thank you.

Thank you Munesh Sir,
I think its true human can give counseling on the particular subject, but for thorough knowledge, books are required. But yes we can develop a separate space in the library giving the name human library. where an expert can visit and solve the problem of users.

Yes, It can be made but how you will convince your authority for such section and for recruiting a scholar?

Hello Munesh Sir,

In my library it is not at all possible, as only government employees are my reader, they are visiting the library to borrow the book, and some mass is for preparation of their departmental exam or other competitive exams. But I think at school level or at education institute we can convenience the management.
