Regarding shortlisting criteria for the post of librarian in National Green Tribunal

Dear Friends,

I have applied for the post of librarian in National Green Tribunal. After the duration of 5 months yesterday, I got the information about the selected candidates for the interview and the criteria for selection is 75% marks in Bachelor of Library and Information Science. Do you think this eligibility criteria is appropriate for the post of librarian. In the advt. the eligibility criteria for applying the same post was 55% in Library and Information Science. The marking systems of all universities are different. So marks should not be a criteria for selection of the candidates. We heard several times that the marks are not criteria to judge the knowledge of the person. Sometimes due to some personal reasons students did not get better marks. The selection criteria can be a higher degree in library science or the length of experience also then why only marks? NGT should organize a written test, so that actual eligible candidate will get selected. Opportunity should be provided to all the candidates who have applied.

So I just want to know whether we can do something in this regard, I mean filing an RTI or something like that. In advt. they only gave one instruction that "The applications may be shortlisted according to the criteria as may be prescribed for the purpose". For your further reference please find the attachment of the advt.  Please help me in this regard whether I can do something or not ?

Thank you

Regards

Swati

Thank you all for sharing your views on this topic. In advt. they only gave one instruction that "The applications may be shortlisted according to the criteria as may be prescribed for the purpose". Does this line can save them from any legal action like RTI ??

I have put the advt also for your consideration. Those who have knowledge in this regard, please go through with the advt. and tell what should I do?

Dear Swati Mam,

I think one RTI should submit to the authority to asking them to inform  the name of the selected candidates and the basis of their selections.  Then the actual scenario may be seen that what the authority wish to do.  In this connection, I requested to all my  friends to share the way of submitting the RTI.

Surajit.

i agreed with u that percentage is not a good criteria for the recruitment. so, i think that u can be move the court for clarification or stay and save the future of some other candidates those not perform better in their examinations.

injustice  sabse adhik nyaya dene wale hi karte hai. iske liye mene bhi apply kiya tha mere to permission bhi bekar chali gayi. 75% ka criteria ke bare me advertisement me to kahi nahi diya tha . iske liye criteria kiske dwara  aur kab decide kiya gaya hai yah RTI se pata lagana chahiye

yes, I obey with the comment of Shraddha madam here.  we should file an RTI on this occasion.

regards,

Surajit.

Pl. consult advocate for that injustice before interview

Post of one of the MTS, multi tasking staff, working in NGT, has mentioned by NGT in their website RTI since a long time as MTS-cum Assistant Librarian. How one person appointed on the post of MTS can get the post in the RTI as MTS cum Assistant Librarian? Is it possible?

what? can you please make it clearer?

one of the lady appointed in the NGT as on regular post of MTS (i.e. Multi tasking staff), mentioned in the website of NGT in the RTI as MTS-cum Assistant Librarian.

How one person appointed on the post of MTS can get the post in the RTI as MTS cum Assistant Librarian? Is it possible?

is tarah  post ko fill karne ka trend sabhi central govt ke institutes me hai khas taur par library sc. ke field me. aur aise candidate generally correspondence se degree lete hai  iske liye RTI aur Writ hi lagana chahiye jisase sahi candidate  ko berojgari na jhelani pade

aisi condition IIM indore me bhi hui thi Library professional Assistant ki post ke liye but exam lekar usme interview me apne candidate ko bhar liya jo pehale se hi work kar raha tha

Dear all,

This is my request to all candidates who have applied in NGT and could not select for the interview due to this criteria of percentage, kindly file a RTI separately so that we can make a pressure on NGT. I am going to file RTI against NGT. Filing an RTI is not a big deal so please come together for that purpose.

Thank You

Regards,
