nooo yar so many job opportunities are available in the field of LIS field bt their aare veryfuw permanant jobs , so many jobs are temporary or on low payment , in gov sector so many posts are vacant bt their is no need of librarian they have need one clark thats why these posts are vacant . now a days no of LIS professionals are encriced
No, the situation is not like this.Manu of the Post are coming in the recent days such as DSSSSB, ILI, DTU and many other but problem is that few of them on contract basis.
Because libraries are going computerised so anyony who knows computers can do it
thanks and regards

Hello Sir
Acc. to me, the job opportunities in the field of LIS is not decreasing........the problem is.....in most of the institutions especially in private institution, we don't get the gud renumeration...nd for gud renumeration as well as for designation...... ugc-net is mst..nd evry yr hardly ..3-4% cndidates break this xam....nd yes...most of the lib's r going to be computerised.....so.....for librarians compurter is mst.....which we don't learn in Mlib.......concentrate only on theoratical part........
In most of the Govt. Institutions.......they appoint library assistant against Assistant Librarians, Deputy Librarians,
nd Librarins on fixed emoluments.........becoz they don't get ugc-net qualified candidates......
Thanks for your suggestion . your suggestion is very important for me .
dear anoop you are right but so many works are done by computer, and you know a small library is getting computerised there are so many local softwares they are using manly circulation work can be done by computers so it can possible, they keep only one library professional he can be either a degree holder or diploma assistants whomever they provide not librarians because they have to pay less salaries and as you know in our country unemployment problem is increasing day by day
Happy birthday mam.
How r u ?
yes, your are right, technically speaking , library and information has not granted the status of curriculum in academic arena.
the status of library should not be merely be a substitute of academic curriculum.
the users are proned to imagine library as a tool and not a professionally well accepted department.
even general public are under the impression that library is a substitute for professional and academic studies.
IT should become a workshop for the users, where they can enrich their skills.

as far computer age, the library as you are aware is a growing organism, indeed the role of library become more crucial in imparting informative knowledge to the users,.
for professionals like us, it is a welcome sign, only thing is that we should update our knowledge or shall i say keep pace with the latest developments in the computer age.
