What a insult for our profession?
One of my friend recently went for an interview for the librarian post. The college conducted the interview and asked everyone about their salary and everyone asked good payment. They told them to wait in the corridor. Suddenly one person came and asked all the candidates who is coming for the salary Rs.7000/-. Three candidates raised their hand and accepted the salary and in that three one person is selected.
Another important one is the college asked only NET/SET/Ph.D candidates and the selected person also cleared SET exam with M.Phil. I feel it is a very great insult for our profession by giving just Rs. 7000/- to SET cleared candidates. Will this happen to other professions? I dont know how the selected person agreed for this salary.

it is very sad and why library professionals are agree for this poor salary first we should respect for our profession. every one struggling in their work place govt. has given teaching status for us but private institutions are not considering every time we have to tell them that we comes under teaching profession it is shame on us. i request ILA and Indian Govt to take action against to this.

Thanks to keep this situation in front of us.. main yahan 2 pehluyon par baat karna chahungi.
1. Hum sabhi Library Science ki field se bakhubi parichit hia, hum sabhi ne kabhi na kabhi yahan aisa daur nikala hai jo hame bhi gawara nhi tha, fir bhi man masos kar ham us karya ko karte rhe. jab tak ki koi achchi opportunity nhi mil jaati. Mera khud ka experience bahut bura rha h is field me, yahan tak ki aaj bhi mujhe apne man ko mar kar is job ko karna pad rha h. meri shuruat bhi matr 2300/- se hui thi 2007 me.
2. Yadi un teen haath khade 7000/- par to kya galat kiya. aaj ke haalat dekhkar koi bhi us samay yahi karta. ho sakta hai ki wo log job search kar kar ke thak gye ho haar kar isi ke khud ko taiyaar kiya ho.
* ya unke paas experience na ho aur jahan bhi jaate ho wahan exp. required hota hai to just for gaining experience un logo ne us salary ko haan keh diya ki waqt rehte dusra job mil hee jayega aur exp. bhi ho jayega
* Aisa bhi ho sakta hai ki un logo ne wo job us kahani ko sun kar haan keh do jisme emplyer us vyaki ko job dena chahta ho jo salary ko nhi apitu kaam ko mahatva deta ho.
* Library profesionals me mil rahi salary se hum sabhi pareshan h, main khud bhi. 5 saal pure karne k baad bhi har sal increment ke liye Bhikh mangni padti hai.
* Mujhe is baat par afsos hai ki Library Science ne itni tarakki kar li ha fir bhi salary dene ke time hum ko pichhda varg me daal diya jaata h.
*** Last me yahi kahungi ki yadi wo teeno bhi ek baar ko haath khada na karte aur is di jaane wali salary ka by-cot karte to shayad aaj usi post ko ek achchi aamdani mil rahi hoti n sabhi log wahan is salary par objection utha sakte the, jis se aane wale time me sabhi ko yeh pta chalta ki wo Library Professional ko is tarah INSULT na kare!
Hamne jo study ki hai wo yun hee nhi hai, use bhi importance diya jaaye.
