Dear professionals,
Some of the UGC NET qualified librarians used their eligibility (UGC NET) with their professional degrees as suffix. Is this authorized one?

Thanks for raising a point that need attention. I found many people who use to write the NET (JRF) as suffix after their name. I don't think NET/JRF is a degree. Its only a competitive exam and an eligibility criteria. So it should not be mentioned as a suffix after the name.

Obviously some other people may have some other opinion, and I am hereby waiting tor their comments.

They can write. There is no boundation for it. suppose IAS is not a degree and not  a post but they write.

for. ex.

AMIT KUMAR, IAS

yes u r right sir

thanks for comments

Dear Professionals,

I opine there is no point to raise objection on it. The UGC NET qualified professionals can add this as Suffix to their name so as to depict their eligibility for lectureship/research fellowship. VIz. Most of the administrators in State & Centre Govt. add IAS, HCS, IFS, IPS etc. to their name although these are not qualifications. Tnese are merely eligibility reflectors.

kya baat hai hazrat

I agree with you

what is wrong in suffixing ugc net? because civil service people suffixing like IAS, IPS, IFS..etc

Hi Sir,

As per my concern, everyone who pass ugc-net can be suffix net in qualification bcoz it treat as qualification which run by UGC which are giving all acedmic degree. And one more thing it is a certificate which is treat as essential qualification of appointment of Asst.Professor. so that we can put UGC-Net wwtih our qualification, This is my view only.

Lots of Regards.

Dear Professionals,

Here, each and everyone's view point is justified. It depends on every individual how he/she reacts to it.

Clearing UGC-NET is not an easy task nor an impossible one. So, it is as you think it.

Thanks,

Dear Friends,

I think This  topic is not  for disscusstion  and do not say Is this authorized one? or not but NET Qualiified has right to write same as a eligibility

but it is depend on NET Qualified candidate as like a  Ph.D Holder

when Reseach schoolar awarded Ph. D. Degree He/She Add Dr. in front of his/her name but some  polite person only mention  Ph.D as a educatational qualification instead of Dr. (ex.  Dr. Pradeepkumar Ghante or Mr. Pradeepkumar Ghante, Ph. D.

“What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet”  Romeo and Juliet (II, ii, 1-2)

Whether NET or JRF is added to a name or not, it makes little difference to the deserving.  The inherent quality not the outwardly appearance is all that matters.  I would only like to say “Don’t judge a book by its cover” – i.e., prefixes or suffixes don’t a person make.
