Universal Bibliographic Control (UBC) is a program of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) to encourage national libraries, or groups of libraries, to institute methods of recording their national publications in a standard format launched in 1974. The IFLA Universal Bibliographic Control is closed on 1st March 2003. Source
