Lack of Uniformity in WBCSE....Is this a justice to all???

Dear LIS Professionals... will anyone please inform me why West Bengal College Service Commission is giving 5 score for additional Master Degree(except LIS) for the post of librarian? As far as I know Masters in LIS is essential for college librarian but why they desire Masters in other subject? For admission in MLIS only graduation and BLIS is required. Then where is the necessity for preferring additional masters degree holders? Is this a justice to all???

there are many other problems also.

1. Many universities running 2 years MLIS (4 semester) instead of BLIS+MLIS. So, how those candidates will shoe their BLIS marks, as they do not have any BLIS degree at all.

Regarding all these the library association of WB should protest.

yes Sir all these are really problematic for the candidates? but how to get the justice?

Injustice

Bcz Mlisc is similar/same  to Masters Degree then Y they seek other PG program

yes

Dear Momita

This is quit a genuine weightage given. You are complaining this because you have not yet completed MLISC and other post graduate degree. Had you completed the same , you must have been appreciating the same. So all the best compete among all and show yours strength.

regards

vrt

SIR,

i am totally agreed with u, because if some one have additional PG Degree then he/ she should be got some Weightage then others.

It means that as they have additional PG Degree , they are more desirable???I know that all masters degree holders will not agree with me... Our problem is that LIS education has no uniformity in their curriculam through out India.. Some institution is conducting integrated MLIS, other is 1+1 & another one is 2+1. As a result students are the only sufferers.t

no it doesn't mean that they are more desirable, as per ugc guidelines for college Librarian / University Asst. Librarian, the qualification is UGC-NET in Librarary Science, but there are some marks / points to be given to those who have completed M.Phil or PhD in LIS, it doesn't mean that they are much desirable than Only NET Qualified Candidates but these benifits are only for their higher education.

Mr Mishra

Additional PG degree and M.Phil or PhD in LIS is not same.

Mr Mishra if additional weightage is rendered for additional PG then why it is only for the post of librarian not for assistant professors? both are enjoying the same scale of salary!!!

Tiwari Sir  I've completed my Masters in LIS...

may i know whehter we send the chalan reciept along with the application print out?
