Is it justified to have a NET for Assistant Librarian?

Respected members,

The concern of the topic is that we all are aware with the fact that it is essential to have NET to be an Assistant Librarian. But my asking is that the posts like Assistant Registrar, Assistant Finance Officer, Assistant Examination Controller, etc don't require NET. So are we not suffering of injustice?ย

Your suggestions and views are highly expected.....

You are very true Sir.

yes you are right sir. It should be applicable to all assistant post.

Dear Mr. Biswas

Kindly let us know what is wrong if you write an exam and clear it for a good job with more grade pay? Do you have? I don't think so.ย

I appreciate your feeling but let me clear the picture ofย differencesย in grade pay. If you are aware about the grade pay offered to Assistant Librarian is 6000/- in almost all CFIs, whereas Assistant Registrar gets Rs.5400/-. Now please tell us will you be ready to leave your Rs.600/- + effective allowances in each month from your salary? will you come to the level equal to Assistant Registrar, Grade pay Rs.5400/-?

I know you will like to write NET exam instead of leaving Rs.600 in grade pay (around Rs.2000-3000 in each month).

We are not suffering with injustice here. Yes we are suffering with some issues but not in same context which you have said here.ย

Kindly think before asking for a change. Dear admin, Forum kindly look in the matter before approval. Kindly do not share this outside.

Thanks You.

Well said Munesh ji and Biswas ji ka doubt was cleared now with your informative reply.

Dear Biswas,

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  I totally agree with Mr. Muneesh Post. Assistant Librarian post is higher that assistant registrar and all, this post is belong to academician, its equal to Assistant Professor of any subject, so we have to fulfill the min criteria as a Assistant prof., also we are getting all facilities what ever getting to a Assistant prof of 6000/GP, I think all LIS professional like to qualify this Test,ย  Its to be honour for us that we are in academician post...

I hope now you have clear about your post. But if you have any query, let me know

Thanks

Surendra Kumar Pal

Assistant Librarian,

Tripura University(A Central University)

Agartala

Dear Mr.ย surendra kumar palย

My question is ย API ย is mandatory to fill for the following position:-

  1. Librarian

  2. Deputy Librarian

  3. Assistant Librarian

ย Please reply.

ย

Mr. Pramod, Sorry for deley answering, due to my busy schedule, Sir, In case of AL, no need of API, only MLISc & NET, is minimum requirement, but if you have API, it ll be weightage for you, and in case of DL, & Librarian, there must be Min API, due to its academic post. and also if we are claiming for those facility which are getting by associate prof. professors, so we also have to continue writings some journals articles and book chapter and all,

Dear Mr. Surendra

Thank you so much for reply my question, but not delay of your reply.

Dear Mr. Alamgir Biswas,ย

I think only University or any institute or college who has university status , required NET for Assistant Librarian because UGC is consider college or Institute Librarian ย as a Assistant librarian of Universityย

so College Librarian and University Assistant Librarian post are teaching post on 6th pay 15600-39100 with 6000 AGP hence NET or SET is compulsory for the Post of Assistant Librarian (only for University not for regular college or institute Assistant Librarian)

Assistant Registrar, Assistant Finance Officer, Assistant Examination Controller, etc are non teaching posts

Thanking You,

Digambar B Waghmare (Librarian)ย

Make Assistant Librarian Non teaching post this will help to developed the professional ย and also bring more employability in the profession.ย

Dear Sir.ย

I think there is no harm and any difference if a person in job comes under teaching category or non-teaching category. The difference which we get in terms of grade and payment, which is directly linked with the education and degrees. If we see a setup from aerial point of view the we find that there is an organization, it has, employee to teach and manage being in admin like two hands of a human. If you want to climb high you need equal support and power to be applied from both the hands.

ย

If you thinking that if assistant librarian post should make as non-teaching post which will leads to employment kindly clear how?ย

Thank You.ย

I think Assistant Librarian is non teaching post, only College Librarian and University Assistant librarian are a teaching posts ย and both should be under teaching category for our better carriers & status

Thanking youย

Digambar B Waghmareย
