About the job
Responsibilities
- Facilitate activities including accessioning and other registers as well as managing and performing cataloguing, classification, labeling, due date slips, spine, barcoding, property marking and shelving of all the libraryโs resources Serve as the primary point of contact for metadata and language expert for technical services
- Perform the tasks of creation, organization and maintenance of system โ wide digital content
- Work with team members to evaluate, select and apply metadata schema and techniques, standards, data elements to provide description and access to Jio Libraryโs collections
- Participate in research and development projects relevant to metadata discovery interoperability, and identity management, including the development of linked data
- Collaborate with acquisition librarian to manage and provide assistance in ordering, managing and cataloguing materials
- Support the Associate Director Library Technologies, Systems & Services in processes to further enhance the quality of the facilities and services
Qualifications:
โช Masterโs degree in library management or library science
Experience:
โช Minimum 5 to 8years of experience in a relevant library setting with demonstrated
capacity to work in digital libraries and managing metadata functions preferably in
an academic setting, including in collaborative, multi-institution contexts.
โช Working experience with the theory and practice of authority control in an online
environment involving collaborative, multi-institutional contexts.
