Advertisement for Library Professional Assistant through Outsourcing Company

The Outsourcing Company is seeking applications for the post “Library Professional Assistant” to deploy in one of its customers at IISER Mohali.

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali (IISER Mohali) is an autonomous Institution established at Mohali, Punjab under the Ministry of Education, Govt of India. It is recognized as an Institute of National Importance with a mandate to cutting-edge research in frontier areas of science and to provide science education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The Library of IISER Mohali has been established with the concept of “Learning Commons”, with the mission to provide effective, informal, and efficient use of the library resources which epitomizes the spirit of the institute, i.e., the pursuit of knowledge. In tune with the recent advancement in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), IISER Mohali has set up a library with state-of-the-art technology and world-class infrastructure. Library uses Open Source Software’s like Library Management Software“ Koha”, Digital Library software “ DSpace”, Remote access tool “MyLOFT” etc.

The Company requires One young, enthusiastic, dynamic, tech-savvy, and committed Library Professional with not more than 30 years of age from recognized Universities to serve as “Library Professional Asst. with the following Qualification and Experience :

Essential Qualification: Any Bachelors Degree (Preference will be given to Bachelors in Science) and Masters in Library & Information Science ( MLISc) or equivalent with consistent good Academic and conduct record.

Experience: Candidate should have sound working knowledge in IT & digital Application in and two years working experience in fully automated library preferably in “Koha” and “DSpace”. Good communication skills in writing and speaking of English are desired.

However preference will be given and also exempted from one year experience If a candidate is having Graduation or Post graduation in Computer Science along with MLISc.,

Age:- Should not be more than 30 years. 

Job Conditions:

- Selected candidates will be required to attend the duty round the clock on three shifts during six days a week, holidays/ Sundays. An accommodation facility will not be provided by the Company.

(Candidate should work on shift mode and willing to work in night shift is essential as IISER Mohali Library Opens 24 /7.

Nature of Job: Professional has to work in different sections of the library to learn/manage the modern library Management system, digital technologies, web-based systems/services, emerging IT tools, and technologies, etc.

Mode of Selection: Written Test / Interview or both

Salary: An amount approx. Rs.20,600 /-  (including EPF and ESI) per month.
