Eligibility for Librarian Post in MPPSC Under General Category when Candidate have UGC NET in OBC Category

An OBC candidate belongs to Uttar Pradesh and applied for the post of Librarian in MPPSC, Madhya Pradesh as a General Candidate and qualified the exam. He has all the required qualifications but qualified UGC NET in OBC category. Will there be any problem during document verification?

Dear Govind,

I think there will not be any problem. But, you please read the advertisement document of MPPSC. Is there any terms and conditions given favouring to your question.

Thank you.

Thanks for your reply Sir.

In advertisement, MPPSC is only asking for NET qualification, nothing is mentioned regarding category in which one has to pass NET.

Dear Govind,

It depends that which year you qualified NET. I think now category is mentioned in NET certificate before 2015 it is not mentioned. If u have certificate in which category is mentioned then it may be a problem for u.

These are just two types of format for same certificate. It doesn't mean that a person who had passed NET in 2014 and another one in 2017 in same category possess different eligibility. And for your information, July 2018 NET certificate doesn't mention the category in which one passed NET; mentioning category was followed only till NOV 17 NET.

Dear Rahman Ji,

Please don't raise any hypothetical discussion at this level. MPPSC only will do according to their terms and conditions mentioned in their notification. Whatever we discuss here will not be effective in any manner.

For this forum post concern, I can mention one thing that it's a state govt. regulated job, everyone(non-home candidate) will be treated as a general candidate though they belong to SC/ST or OBC. So, for MPPSC, all non-home candidates are the general candidate, state regulation of reservation(if exists) will not favour them.

Thanks.

Dear Sri Govind Jadav,

Thank you for your post.

As I could gather, the candidate cleared NET under OBC Category and on the basis of that NET clearance, he/she applied for a job under UR category. If the qualifying marks for NET of the particular year had been lower than the General Category applicants, the candidate got "privilege" over & above the General Category candidates to gain clearance and on the basis of this clearance (which the candidate got as a 'privileged' category individual) the candidate applied for the UR category post and got service

The reality is that the candidate should not treated as eligible to apply UNLESS, the marks obtained by him/her in NET is NOT LESS than the lowest qualifying marks required for NET Candidates under General Category FOR THAT PARTICULAR YEAR.

Hope I could explain your query.

Sincerely,

Siddhartha S. Ray, Calcutta

Thanks for your time and reply Sir.

What I can understand is that an OBC candidate has to pass NET with cutoff marks of GEN candidate to apply for the GEN post.

Hi, Did you also clear the UR category marks?

For applying anywhere out of the home state on a state governed jobs like MPPSC, everyone(non-home state candidate) will be treated only for the posts which are not reserved for any category because of the differences in reservation systems in the states. Caste system and state reservations vary with State to State.

Thank you.

No problem Yadav ji.... Only you need to submit NET Qualified Certificate.... Best of luck.

Dear Govind,

Wait till they announce the document verification particulars (date, time, documents etc).

I do not think this may be a reason for not considering a selected candidate as they didn't mention this issue clearly in the advertisement.

But in the state of confusion the best I can suggest you to give a call/mail elaborating your issue to the officials of Dept. of Higher Education, M.P.

you may visit :

Thanks for your suggestions bhaiya.
