2.5 lac only for the software or for the entire library automation work?

Public library module Rs. 10 thousand to 1.5 Lac

School library module Rs 10 thousand to 2 lac

University and special library module Rs. 3 lac

only for software

for detail see Granthagar

Vol 62 No. 10

Quite unaware of this fact. I cannot guess the underlying factors that demands so much amount for customizing an open source software. :-)

can you sent me a scanned copy of that details in granthagar

         Dear Jasimudeen

  Sorry, I have no scanner.

thanks

2.5 lacs??? OMG!!!

Think about e-granthalaya ilms. It's unique. runs on windows platform. and it's free, provided by nic,Govt. of India. Specially made for indian library environment. Don't think it's inferior than Koha, rather it's better than Koha some time.

Hype always not be the fact.

Dear Member,

I have tried both KOHA and NewGenlib and OpenBiblio for our satellite library at one of the hospital in UAE. After comparing these software, I found NewGenLib far more better and easy than KOHA. It also give me the ease to make MARC based cataloguing through NLM locater plus.

During Installation of NewGenLib, I asked Verus solution (NewGenLib Vendor) for some help and you will never believe that he did the whole installation by taking the remote of my computer through teamviewer software and that was all free of cost.

Dear Mr. Khan,

                Thanks for valuable information.

Dear Syed,  are NewGenlib and OpenBiblio open source software?

thanks even I am looking for a free s/w for my institute library. They have done some basic entry in Librarika but I somehow dont feel comfortable as it doesnt provide MARC tags and AACRII format of bibliographic des.

suggest me between e granthalaya or newgenlib

as if now only 5000 books

regards

I have recently installed KOHA in my library. Just installed the live CD 3.8,  and imported customized ods files to MARC structure and csv file in user profile and now i am using a customized KOHA without sparing a single penny. I think its unworthy to spent and to demand 2.5 lacs in an OS software.
