I did specialization in Intellectual Property Right specially patents and copyright.I do not know what theme/area you actually like. The topic of my PhD was entirely of my choice. So far my knowledge goes I did a passionate choice. So you decide first which area in LIS field you are passionate about. Without passion for a subject you may have a PhD degree, you may have a good marketability but it would not help to contribute to knowledge spectrum in real sense. I strongly believe in that.

1. of course you can automate all types of libraries. only thing you must remember is the activity of library, and the need fo the end suers, for the selection of the lib mgt software.
2. You as incharge of lib. must take initative and take the project through. - plan, create a document describing this project, budget it, takinginot consideration all aspects of space, persons, ( if necessary), volume of work, infrastructure - (hard ware and software,) data entry requriements, and further processes.
3. Funds - your authorities to get it for you, or you may approach Raja Rom Foundation, or your govt Pub Lib Directorate
4. no actually you do it for them. you williniiate, install, implement and then teachusers of its use. and gorw more users for the system. thats where the success lies.

thanks mam for responding my mail. Actually I want to do something related to public libraries of berhampur(Orissa) . These libraries are not computerised. So I'm interested to work,

1. Is it possible to automated these libraries?
2. Who 'll responsible for that?
3. From which source the fund ll collect?
4. Are the users have any responsibilily towards this matter?

Plz give me some suggestion about this topic n from where I'll collect materials , I'm confused , bcoz its my first attempt.
