ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE POST OF RESOURCE CENTRE (LIBRARY) TRAINEES 2023-24

The Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information & Communication Technology, Gandhinagar, is looking for young, enthusiastic, dynamic and fresh Post-Graduate with a minimum First Class in Master in Library and Information Science from a recognized university to serve as Library Trainees for its Resource Centre (Library) purely temporarily for one year.

The resource centre  has fully computerized in-house operations and services. It provides access to a wide variety of digital collection catering to the needs of the Faculty, Staff and Students. Several new initiatives are being taken to make this library one of the leading-edge resource libraries in the country’s ICT area. It is a part of regional & national consortia and actively participates in resource-sharing activities.

The Resource Centre is kept open till midnight on all working days during the semester and is also open on holidays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Nature of Traineeship: Trainees will be provided with an opportunity to learn practical and operational aspects of all sections of the Resource Centre and learn the modern library management techniques and web-based services. The Resource Centre provides a highly professional learning environment. The selected candidates will have ample opportunities to learn about emerging IT tools and technologies.

The traineeship is for one year, and selected candidates will have to undergo practical training from Monday-Saturday (six days a week) in different shifts and weekends on a rotation basis. They will get a fixed stipend of Rs.25,000/- per month and casual leave.

Selection Criterion: Consistent academic record & satisfactory performance in the written test & personal interview.

Venue for Written Test and Interview: DA-IICT Campus, Near Indroda Circle, Gandhinagar 382 007, Gujarat

Those who meet the above mentioned requirements may directly come for the written test and interview without waiting for a call letter. Candidates must bring supporting documents for date of birth, address, and qualifications (original and one set of photocopies).

No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for attending the written test and interview.

Candidates expecting their MLISc final year examination results before the test & interview date may also apply. The selected candidates must produce the final mark sheet within one month of announcing the results.
