About Us: The Regional Centre for Urban & Environmental Studies (RCUES), Lucknow was established at the University of Lucknow in the year 1968 by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (earlier referred as Ministry of Urban Development), Government of India. It is one of the premier Centres in the country established to play a positive role in the field of urban management. The key activities of the Centre includes Training, Capacity building, Research, Teaching, Consultancy Services and dissemination of information relating to the Urban Sector in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, UT Chandigarh, Manipur, Sikkim. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Library Assistant to join our team and contribute to the enrichment of our library's offerings.

Position: Library Assistant

Location: Lucknow

Responsibilities: As a Library Assistant at RCUES Lucknow, you will be responsible for:

Collection Management: Acquiring, cataloging, and maintaining our library's collection of books, periodicals, digital resources, and multimedia materials.

Reference Services: Assisting patrons in locating and utilizing library resources, conducting research, and providing information services.

User Engagement: Organizing and promoting library events, workshops, and programs to engage the community and foster a love of learning.

Technology Integration: Staying current with library technology trends and ensuring the efficient operation of library systems.

Collaboration: Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement library policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Library Science or Information Science from an accredited institution.
• Strong knowledge of library systems, cataloguing, and information retrieval methods.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and engage with a diverse community of library users.
• Proficiency in library software and technology.
