Department of Library and Information Science, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana organized a special lecture entitled ‘promotion of research and innovation in Indian universities and institutes of higher education’ delivered by Prof. D S Hooda, former VC, Kurulshetra University, on September 9, 2016. Dr. Nirmal Kumar Swain, Associate Professor of the department chaired and hosted the lecture while introducing the speaker and with the objectives of the event, after presenting a small bouquet. In the lecture, Prof Prof. D. S. Hooda discussed all the niceties, prospects, issues related to research and innovation in Indian universities with solution and remedies with his enormous experience in higher education system. Audiences present were Dr. Anil Siwach, Dr. Sanjiv Kadyan, Dr. Pinki, the teachers, bachelors, masters and doctoral students of the department. This was part of introducing the students with new, emerging and innovative ideas of interdisciplinary nature.
