The 3rd Annual day of Odisha Library Academy along with “Librarian’s Day Celebration” has been observed on 12th August 2018 (Sunday)at Institute of Hotel Management, VSS Nagar, BhubaneswarCampus. The Principal Secretary, Odia Language Literature & Culture Department, Government of Odisha, Sri Manoranjan Panigrahy has joined as the Chief Guest and put forth not only his views on the significance of Libraries and Librarians in the Education, Educators, Educational Environment but also the extreme and unlimited role of librarians on the modern educational system. The Principal of Institute of Hotel Management, Mrs. Sarada Ghosh has joined as Guest of Honour addressed the audience. In her speech she emphasized on how the multidimensional work flow of Librarians would act as transporter of the Educational Environment and Cultural Value for the new generation. Prof. Pitambar Padhi gave the Keynote address and emphasized on the status of Odisha Library Legislation. Dr. Banamber Sahoo (RMRC, Bhubaneswar), the President of Odisha Library Academy presided the meeting and the Organising Secretary, Mr. Abinash Dash, Librarian of IHM, Bhubaneswar, gave the welcome address. The inauguration session ended with vote of thanks by the Secretary, Dr. Bibhuti Bhusan Sahoo (IIT, Bhubaneswar). On the eve of this day, a seminar was held on “Drafting a Blueprint for Future Library Development of Odisha”. The speakers, intellectuals and invitees who participated in the seminar put forth their valuable views on boundless role of Library and Information Science. The four technical sessions were presided by Dr. D. B. Ramesh (SOA) with the Rapporteur General Dr. Basudev Mohanty (IOP, Bhubaneswar) and Dr. Satya Ranjan Sahu (IMMT). The day long programme ended with vote of thanks by the Vice-President, OLA, Dr. Kamal Lochan Jena (CET).
