Event Description

CSIR-NISCAIR will be conducting a two weeks training course on "Open Journal Systems (OJS) Software for Journal Publishing" during October 03-13, 2017.

OJS is an open source software for managing and publishing scholarly journals online.

The programme covers topics like: Open Source Software & Open Source Operating System; Introduction to Linux & Linux Installation; Introduction to Open Access Publishing; Overview & features of OJS; Installation of OJS on Linux; Site & Journal Management; Managing journal sections; Designing review forms; Managing emails templates; Reading tools; User roles- Site Administrator, Journal Managers, Authors, Editors, Reviewers; Journal Setup- journal policies, Submission guidelines, Management, Customizing the look; Editorial Process & workflow management; User Management; Managing reviewers database; Publishing issues- scheduling, table of contents; Customization; Statistics & Reports; Backup & Restore; Imports & Exports etc.

The training course will be practical oriented one.

More emphasis will be given to practicals and hands-on.   

All the participants will be individually installing Linux and OJS themselves followed by hands-on on above mentioned topics.

Class Timings: 9.30 AM - 5.30 PM

Participation certificate will be provided after successful completion of training.

Course fee: For Indian participants - Rs. 10000/- (without accommodation) and Rs. 15000/- (with accommodation).

The course fee without accommodation include Course kit, boarding lunch, two times tea.

The course fee with accommodation include Course kit, boarding lunch, two times tea and transport facility from guest house to training venue and back.

Limited seats are available on first-cum-first-serve basis.

The scanned copy of filled in application form (attached herewith) and UTR no. of payment of requisite fee in NISCAIR bank account (NISCAIR bank details attached herewith) through NEFT can be sent by mail to for reserving the seat latest by September 26, 2017.
